Long Post!

Hello, all! I got lots of things to update!

Well, first will be that thursday in the afternoon, I went to school to submit I & R. Wow, long queue. And what's worse was that we had to do up our own GPF file which was pretty troublesome and it took quite some time because we had to number the pages and all that. But nevermind, PW's over for the year man! Then, went for leaders' meeting, and discovered that I intend to quit. Sad. Went home then. Evening time went to Shawn's condominium for class barbeque! Yay! It was fun and I felt seriously damn full. Hahha! Headed home at 10+. Quite early. Pictures later.

Friday, stayed at home to prepare for work on the weekend at the Singtel Roadshow just outside Plaza Singapura for the launch of Sony Ericsson's latest and first Windows Mobile powered phone, Xperia X1. Ahh! Had to remember all the stuff for Windows Mobile! Yes, I took up the job as a Windows Mobile promoter, recommended by my brother. Well, I went to windowsmobiletraining.com to finish my 6 modules and achieved my Specialist Certificate at a mark of 84%, but frankly speaking, I do not really know much about Windows Mobile yet. Hahah! So yeah, I spent almost the whole day studying on Windows Mobile. LOL. I guess this was due to anxiety. After all, it is officially my first time working (not inclduing giving out flyers). So, I shall elaborate on my job as a Windows Mobile promoter. My field of understanding is in how Windows Mobile works, and to promote and explain to customers what does Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional in Xperia X1 has got to offer. That's all.

Saturday! First day of work. Met my "bosses", Gavin and Yen, and colleagues, Bernard and Kelvin. Gavin explained to us, the newcomers, the functions of X1 and the knowledge we should know. A way to remember how to promote Windows Mobile is the word SIMPLE. S for simple and smart, I for Internet explorer, M for Media Player, P for personalisation, L for Windows Live and E for Email Capabilities. OMG, I can still remember, clearly (: So, we started work at 11am. It was pretty relaxing. Most people are more interested in finding out the prices of X1 and prices of the plans, few wanted to know more about Windows Mobile. There were a total of 3 Windows Mobile promoter at the Singtel Roadshow, including me. Well, gave out the Singtel promotions flyers. And soon, I became a hybrid promoter. Not only do I have to know about Windows Mobile, I had to know what Singtel and Sony Ericsson has got to offer and the prices of practically, everything. Customers ask me about price plans and all. And now, I can almost relate to you the actual prices of iOne Plus plan, which is $25.68 per month and iTwo Plus at $82.93 per month. ZZZ. sigh, what can I say. I can only provide information I know and I'm sure about, but too many customers ask about it and so, I had to remember. Well, nevermind about all that cause I still enjoy my job a lot! When customers smile and say "Thank You very much", you can feel that sense of satisfaction in them and the sense of achievement in yourself that you had served them well. That's what I like about some customers who are friendly. All I can say is that, some foreigners are far more polite and matured than the locals. In my opinion, it's such a disgrace, seriously. Also, I don't understand why some locals just want to flaunt their wealth in front of us, promoters ._. Super lame. Show you an example. Wife, "Hmm, should we buy the X1?" Husband, "I'm not sure as well. Just buy?" Wife, "Well, I think nevermind lah, next time. Or okay lah, just buy now, just buy lor." LOL, the just literally staged a performance in front of me. From the look of their faces, they just wanted to "impress" me. Really, I'm not trying to find fault but it's true. But not all locals are bad customers, some are really nice to talk to and interact with and they give you the feeling of wanting to serve them well as a promoter. Hmm, not all foreigners are nice people as well. Some come forward to you, as if they wanna beat you up and it just stunned me. ._. Well, nevermind. I guess there are bound to be unpleasant experiences as a promoter. Anyway, got to know the Sony Ericsson promoters as well, Laura, Lenny and Bryan and one of the LG girl which I don't know the name. Nice people. Oh, and I experienced the loneliness of eating lunch alone in Plaza Singapura on the first day of work, and it was definitely very sad ): The day ended and I walked from Plaza Singapura to Takashimaya. OMG, it was far. Met my brother and walked even further to the 105 bus stop to go home. By the time I reached home, I was K.O-ed and slept almost immediately after bathing.

Reported for second day of work at 11am. It was overall, enjoyable. Less customers came. But in the morning, again, met a not-so-friendly customer which simply pissed me off. This particular customer asked me about Singtel plans. Told him what I knew.He asked more and just more questions about SINGTEL, without realising I am from WINDOWS MOBILE. Hmm, in any case, I have to be held responsible if I provided false information of Singtel to customers. So, I dare not take risk and told him to confirm with the Singtel personnel for any further clarifications. But, he did not care, he just wanted to question me about Singtel, and so, I had to repeat to him that I cannot confirm anything about Singtel and that he really had to ask Singtel personnel from the counters. By the way, he already queued up and was on his way to purchase the phone. I guess he had nothing better to do. Hmm, so he became really pissed with me, not answering his questions and asked me, "So, what do you know then?" I explained to him that I was from Windows Mobile and that anything regarding Singtel had to enquired at the counters. In anyway, the next thing he did just made me real mad. He shoved his hands in the air as I stepped back after explaining I was from Windows Mobile, as if asking me to stand further away. Then he said, "Go away. Stand further away." OMG, what's wrong with him? Does he have to be that impolite to me? The tone was like he was seriosuly looking down on me and I'm like some servant. I'm just a promoter who is trying to earn money here, do you have to treat me in that way? Argh! Such customers are really incorrigible and unreasonable. Nevermind, being a promoter just made me discover more about people in our society. I shall learn as I experience more and ultimately, discover a way to deal with such customers. On the course of our conversation, I had been very polite to him already. Hahha, but that asshole's stupidity surfaced when he forgot to collect his premiums from me. What can I say? It's his loss because the phone is a skeleton without the software. If it was other customers, I would have chased after them to remind them that they had to collect the premiums. But him, no way man. I mean, face up to the fact, if you are a good customer, me as a promoter, will ensure you receive good services all the way. But, if you try to make life difficult for me, I don't see a need to provide you with the utmost tip-top service that we can deliver. This is reality of the society and I had learnt that. So, you can't really blame me for having such perception and treatment of this particular customer. If he had approached me, I will still have no choice but to give him the premiums because he was entitled as a customer. By the way, after asking me about Singtel, he asked my colleague, Bernard about Singtel as well and Bernard did the same thing and referred him to Singtel personnel. I guess that customer felt really frustrated by then and stopped asking. LOL. Bernard supported me in not giving that customer the premiums. Nope, wrong, the customer forgot and we couldn't do anything ;P Hahha, other than that, the whole day was very relaxing because it was mainly giving out the premiums only. Not much. Emcee at the roadshow, also named Bryan, was super hilarious. In the afternoon, me and Bernard went to grab some lollipops from the Music Monsters for free! Yay! Hmm, night time was super humid. Close to the end of the roadshow, I requested a song from the Deejay, who was the emcee as well, Uptown Girl by Westlife. Wanted the Billy Joel version but Bryan said Westlife's was more happening, So, went ahead with the idea (; Hahha, what a catchy song. Most of us were literally dancing to the beat :D Work ended at 10pm and bro came over to find me at my booth. He walked all the way from Park Hotel. Well, exhanged contacts with Weisheng from Essential who was the event screw, nice guy, Kelvin and Bernard, my friendly Windows Mobile colleagues. All very nice and sociable people. Bade farewell to Sony Ericsson and LG friends as well. Woohoo (: I was the youngest promoter in the whole event and all of them were more experienced than me! Thanks for all the lessons, dudes, especially Bernard bro! Laura and her LG friend were shocked that I am 17 o.O Don't look like meh? LOL!

Ahh, yeah, very long post uh. Sorry for some unpleasant language but it was all due to natural by-products of frustration. (: I may sound evil in what I said but seriously, you have to be there to see how some customers treat promoters. We ain't multi-tasking professionals, and hybrid promoters who know everything. So, please!!! Anyway, our country is becoming an over-cosmopolitan city.

Not sure, whether I'll be working for Singtel Megafair next week. There's still Taekwondo! well, I have to go study Physics soon! Gosh, it's a must! OMG. BYEBYE! Pictures for now!
